Wiltshire Search and Rescue

About Wiltshire Search and Rescue

Who We Are:

Wiltshire Search and Rescue are a voluntary team which exists to assist Wiltshire Police in the search for vulnerable missing persons.  Our primary aims are to search, locate and remove the missing person (MisPer) to a place of safety.

What We Do:

WILSAR operates all over Wiltshire and occasionally surrounding counties to assist Wiltshire Police in the search for missing and vulnerable people such as children, people with learning difficulties, depression or suicidal tendencies or the elderly with dementia. The number of callouts we are attending are increasing, currently 65 for 2018 to date, some stood down after a few hours and others going on for several days.

Why We Need You:

Our 50+ members are trained in specialist search techniques. They are all 100% volunteers and pay for their own fuel, kit and training. The team receives no government funding so we can only exist by our own fundraising efforts and public donations such as yours. Our members, as with many of the other volunteer services in Wiltshire, seek no reward for what they do, just the feeling that they are doing something to help.

We’ll ensure you get a charity discount of £25 off our 10,000ft or 15,000ft skydives when your charity is selected. Determine if your charity expects you to meet a fundraising target or if you will be self-funding the skydive.

You’re all set to start fundraising once you’ve booked your skydive! Your charity can help you with fundraising, and we’ll be available to answer any questions you have about the skydive!
