Your Skydive FAQ-
Training
The first part of your day starts with an introduction to GoSkydive and what to expect from your tandem skydive. You will then receive specialist training in a simulated training environment from an experienced tandem master. GoSkydive is the only skydiving centre in the world to offer this level of training. Safety is at the core of the GoSkydive brand and this development takes the level of training over and above that of any other tandem skydiving dropzone in the world.

Safety Checks
Our friendly ground crew will kit you up in a tandem skydive jumpsuit and fit your safety harness. A trained instructor will then supervise you while you practice the required freefall and landing positions. You will receive all the necessary training and information for your tandem skydive during this British Skydiving approved training session that lasts approximately 10-15 minutes.

Flight
Your personal tandem skydive instructor will make the final adjustments to your harness after your training is completed in the departure area. Your instructor will escort you to the plane and once inside he will secure your harness to his and the flight will depart. On the scenic flight up you’ll take in views of the historical Wiltshire countryside. Sights of major prehistoric significance include the Iron Age hill fort of Old Sarum and depending on wind direction the world heritage site of Stonehenge.

Freefall Skydive
The skydive is the next part of your experience after you and your instructor reach altitude. From your chosen altitude, you and your instructor begin your high adrenaline freefall. You will literally fall through the air and rush towards the earth at about 125 mph - this will take approximately 30 seconds if you're jumping from 10,000 feet, or 60 seconds if you're jumping from 15,000 feet. At these speeds, your instructor will not be able to hear you, but he will tap you on the shoulder and you will move your arms into the freefall position that you have previously practiced.

Parachute Ride
The tandem instructor will deploy the parachute at 5000 ft, which will slow your descent to about 30mph. Despite what it feels like, you are just slowing down, not backwards. You slow down for landing by creating wind resistance under the canopy. As you float through the air towards the landing area, you'll be able to converse with your instructor while enjoying the quiet of the parachute ride instead of the rush of freefall. When flying under canopy, you will usually be able to add a few high-speed turns. On the flight up, you can discuss your wishes with your instructor about your parachute ride.

Memories
When you land, you will bring your legs up into the landing position you practiced during your pre-jump training. You can now congratulate yourself and your instructor!
